Lovely Vvs
â € ~ Bharathiyar € ™ is the name that reminds Indians of nationalism, patriotism and Tamil prose and poetry. Born in 1882 he was conferred the title of â € ~ Bharatia € ™ for his poetic talent at a tender age. Bharati emerged as a prolific poet earning the name of â € ~ Mahakavi € ™, that is, a great poet. He died at the age of 39 years, but in his short life he had made an invaluable contribution to their country and language.Â

Life of a Patriot

He lived in the eventful year of our paas € ™ s struggle for freedom. He had met his contemporaries who influenced his political thinking like Mahatma Gandhi, Tilak, Sister Nivedita, Aurobindo Gosh, VVS Iyer and Lajpat Roy. The Tamil poet and writerâ € ™ s life itself is a shining example of upholding the spirit of freedom, equality, justice and love despite poverty and against the oppressive British rule. He was the assistant editor of â € ~ Swadesamithranâ € ™ a Tamil daily from 1904 to 1907. Launched â € ~ Indiae € ™ the Tamil weekly of which he was editor and later editor of a newspaper â € ~ Bala Bharatam € ™ in english. had a turbulent life laced with life in exile, detention, being jailed amidst abject poverty. Continued as editor of one Swadesamithran year before his death in 1921.

He proclaims with pride that no other country can match the greatness of India, which has Himalyan mountains, the sacred Ganges and the Upanishads in his song â Malaya œMannum Imaya € € ™ and â € ~ paarukkule nalla naaduâ € ™. Â Â It is equally proud of the richness and sweetness of tongue Tamils in their lines of â € ~ yamarindha mozhiugalileâ € ™. He proudly proclaims the equality of wealth and uniqueness of the Tamil language.Â

He fearlessly wrote about freedom of individuals as wells as nations under the influence of â € ~ Vande Mataram € ™ of the patriotic song of Bankim Chandra. These meetings have injected lack of fear in their writing. Given that this is a divine inspiration began to write compositions that were full of revolutionary national unity and spirit His songs of freedom brought a spiritual dimension to the freedom movement. Swathesa Geethangalâ € ~ â € ™ and â € ~ Janma Bhoomi € ™, which he dedicated to sister Nivedita are examples of his patriotic songs and serving the underprivileged and emancipation of women.
