Cambodia tourism is a testament to the strength, warmth and pragmatism of the people of the Kingdom of Cambodia, formerly known as Kampuchea.
A tragic Orwell's civil war proportions, and severe disruption and damage of the Vietnam War, left Cambodia as one of the last places to visit someone in southeast Asia.
But today, it is possible to visit places in Cambodia more than any other time in its history. Many roads have been recently updated with the help of other countries.
In Phnom Penh, the capital, fully paved and sealed roads lead to Siem Reap in northern Cambodia, and the modern city day at the entrance to Angkor Wat temple complex and the city.
Also paved roads will also Sisophon, and Sihanoukville in the south this, the home of the best beaches in Cambodia and also to Sisophon, northwest, and a great place to start your trip to Banteay Chhmar and Banteay best temples of Angkor.
Any visit to Cambodia as a tourist should include going to the Angor Wat temple complex. Besides the road from Phnom Penh, important, Siem Reap airport city code KH, is well served by airlines arriving at its international airport, airport code REP.
These carriers are the arrivals Singapore (SIN), Silk Air, airline code IM, and Singapore Airlines (SQ), Bangkok (BKK) with Bangkok Airways (PG), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) Vietnam Airlines (VN) and other international airlines, including those arriving from Phnom Penh, Taipei, Guangzhou, Hanoi, and Seoul
The complex Angkor Wat temple consists of a number of sites, including Angkor Wat itself, and the nearby ancient Khmer capital of Angkor Thom close. Other major temple sites Circuit include Little, borrowed from French "Le Petit Circuit", the largest circuit of the French Le Grand Circuit, Roluos group of temples.
If you want to visit the sites apart from the temple of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom, it is important to know that the complex is more than four square miles, and sometimes can be difficult to obtain, especially in the rainy season. And in the same reference, four square miles compared to small islands such as Barbados, and even Andorra in Europe.

What if you want to explore Cambodia some hidden gems.? Then return to Phnom Penh, and go see the natural beauty of the provinces of Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri. Ratanakiri border with Laos to the north, and Vietnam in eastern and southern Mondulkiri province.
You will go to a travel agency in Phnom Penh in order to arrange a visit to these provinces, located in northeast Cambodia. There are no roads or service lines this little known part of the country.
Just as a heads-up notice to those of you planning to go to this region, and owners of tourist sites in Cambodia, there are no flights at the airport in Ratanakiri.
Once in Mondulkiri, the guide local will take you to some of the most remote landscapes, spectacular, in Southeast Asia. In the jungle, forest, hill tribes and waterfalls, including the beautiful Boura, all await you here.
And then to Ratanakiri. This may well be the highlight of his visit to Cambodia, and the area is excellent, ranging from, again, waterfalls, Yak spectacular volcanic lake WCO, and seeing the indigenous tribes of the mountains.
Try to stay in the Terres Rouges Lodge, located on Lake Banlung. Banlung is the capital of Ratanakiri province, and is a small city that bursts of about seventeen thousand people, and where the hill tribes come to sell their products.
The original Lodge was the home of a former governor of Ratanakiri province, and has a wealth of history. Today, you will find some of the best services and food in all of Terre Rouge in Cambodia. Just check out croissants and baguettes that have scent that only find in the cafes of provincial France! Well, maybe there are still few similar restaurants in Phnom Penh!
Unfortunately, you have to say au revoir to Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri at some point. I wish you safe journey back home!
