Which way should I string natural gut and Luxilon alu power rough?
I recently purchased Champion Wilson chain choice which is Wilson natural gut and Luxilon Alu power rough. I understand that Federer uses natural gut in the network and clothing and footwear in the crosses. However, some people use the opposite. Which way is better overall?
For most people, money is a problem when it comes to stringing, and therefore you want the combination most durable of the two. This would Luxilon in the network and natural gut crosses. If money is not a problem (hopefully), you can try another way to see how it feels. Maybe you like best, and will not mind shelling out extra money for stringing more frequent. There is nothing wrong with trying a set and realize that I dislike. You can always go with something else next time. Finding a good string / tension combination may take longer. And even after finding something you like, you should try something else once in a while, just to see if there may be something better there than in their current setup.
