Uncut Beautiful
Is there any part of England which are forests?
I am a stupid American who has never been to England, so please forgive this question, but … Whenever I see movies or pictures of rural England, which is more or less hills forestless only … I know there are Sherwood Forest, but is that a small protected tourist attraction over real desert? Here in America, there are states like West Virginia and Washington, and Tennessee, and many many others, where there huge uncut extensions densely forested hills. Is there any part of England, where large tracts of dense forest? And my 2nd question is, since England is supposedly more modern and sophisticated U.S. intelligence, if it does not extend forest tracts, but no large tracts of rural hills, Why not have a massive planting of some of them, so that England can have some beautiful forest scenery we have here in the U.S. in places like Smoky Mountains, National Forest Monoghahela, and in this case, the places without the names of the answers …?
There are areas of forests, but, most are very small compared with the places you mention. On the other hand, go north to the north of Scotland and is in vast areas of forest lands. The reason why not from the forested hills English is because they are an ecosystem in its own right – there are no plants and butterflies in the hills living anywhere else. We have been grazing sheep in the hills while plants and animals have adapted.
